This is my 100th Post!

This is my 100th post! So it is time for a contest. You can enter as many times as you like. I will put all suggestions in a hat and draw the name out at the end of this month...as a matter of fact on my birthday, December 29th.

The contest is to name my little bear I bought sometime ago. I love bears and haven't really bought any in a very long time. When I saw this cutie I had to have him. He sits on my table or where ever so I can just enjoy his cuteness! But he soooooo needs a name. So please help me with a name suggestion and why you thought that it would be a good name. I will add your name to the hat when each time you submit a name and in the hat again for every person who visits my site on your recommendation. Make sure you tell them to let me know they have been recommended! And on December 29th he will have a new name!

For the contest I will pick two winners (yes he will need a middle name!) and they will receive wonderful sock yarn and other small gifts. Enjoy!

What a cute bear, and a great contest!

I don't have any good name ideas, but I wanted to let you know that I posted about your contest on WiKnit, my knitting contest blog

Benjamin Toby.

I think it fits his slightly dapper but approachable look.

Hmm, Frederick? Bubba? Caesar? Rock Hudson?
Do you lean towards the more "dignified" names or is he a more "easy-going, goofy" personality?

Sanderson! I have no idea why but that just popped into my head. :)

I want to call him Edward Bear because of this podcast:
http://escapepod.org/2008/02/21/ep146-edward-bear-and-the-very-long-walk/

(Bet you can't listen to it and not cry.)

Oh, it's a hard one. I think Maurice, maybe? Or, perhaps Edgar? It's a good thing I don't have kids, I'd be changing their names everyday! Thanks for this sweet contest!

he has a cute face! I think he looks like a Zoey, or Curly or Clyde .... Edgar? SO cute!

Frederick - Because you live in Fredericksburg, but I see this has already been suggested.

Francisco - Because I live in San Francisco.

Dorian Grrrowl - Because like Dorian Gray, he will not age. He will, of course, be much nicer than Mr. Gray.

Barton - A friend from school days who always had a similar slightly puzzled look on his face.

Centurion Scrappy - in honor of your blog's 100th post, and because he deserves a title as well as a name.

I've posted on my blog, and found your site via the WiKnit blog.

I say Trevor or Nigel. He should have a proper English name.

He is a cutey! I'm going to offer up Winston. He looks like he could be very distinguished if he wanted to... and it's my cat's name and it just popped into my head when I saw teddy's picture.
Hope his new name does him justice!

I'm partial to Colby or Brumbly. Are you planning on knitting him some adorable attire?

I think Scrappy O'something or another like O'Doole, or O'Curly
or Scrappy McFlannigan
He just looks like an irish lad to me!

He's a cutie!

In our country there is a program on tv with a bear just like yours, traveling (staying with school children for a week, and they have to tell their adventures with the bear.) That bear's name is Flip (short for Philip) Might be a suggestion for your bear :-)

He looks like a very serious bear. I propose

Socrates

or maybe Plato.

I just submitted a comment using Elaine's machine and it may have come out looking like she posted it (but it was me)

I proposed

Socrates

with Plato as a second choice since he looks like a really deep thinker!

I did find out about the contest from Elaine (and she made me enter RIGHT THEN)

First - happy 100th!

What a cutie!

How about naming him:

Cutie P Bear

(for Cutie Pie)

Or maybe he's a she (did you check?)

And I found out about the contest from Elaine (but this is my own machine)

EJ said...

He's very cute but he looks so sad to me. Did you put him in time out or something like that?

How about naming him Furball?

I found out about the contest from Elaine

Mara said...

How adorable! I like Ruggles as a name for him.

Dana said...

Seeing curly-furred stuffed animals like this always makes me think of Corriedale sheep (probably not the most curly of sheep I could be thinking of, but that's the one that comes to mind every single time). So I'd name him Corrie.

tom said...

Very cute. A bit tough looking. I'd call him Dude.

Maybe with a first name like

Dudley Dude

or

Donald Dude

And I found out about your contest from Elaine's blog.

I've been trying to think of a really great name for your great-looking guy. Finally I've decided - his name should be Snuggles because don't you just want to snuggle him?

I heard about the contest from my friend EJ.

And happy up-coming birthday!

He looks like an English bear to me!

Maybe it's the weather here, but he looks like he should be named Snoball.

And I found out about the contest from Elaine

Patt said...

Happy Happy Birthday on the 29th!! Your bear looks like a real Sugar bear so I suggest just that:
Sugarbear.

I found out about the contest from my colleague Elaine.

I suggest Oso Cute

(For those who don't know, oso means bear in Spanish, so it's sort of a multilingual pun)

Hiya, my guess would be Eli Allister
